There are three locomotives in active service right now on the Cumbres and Toltec (K-36 Locomotives 484, 487, and 488). A fourth one will be in operation later this year  (K-36 locomotive 489). There are also plans as soon as 489 gets out of the shop to restore locomotive number 463, a K-27.

The Cumbres and Toltec owns 10 steam locomotives all together. They are all formal Denver and Rio Grande locomotives.
