The Colorado Railroad Museum is a non
profit organization located in Golden, Colorado. It was founded in 1959
to preserve Colorado's railroad history for future generations to come.
The museum has the largest collection of Narrow Gauge equipment, of any
museum in North America. Owning over 12 steam locomotives, and over 100
pieces of rolling stock.
The railroad owns over 15 acres of grounds, with a loop track, storage
track, a complete roundhouse with turntable, as well as its own
library. The library includes over 10,000 books about specific
railroads and their history. You can certainly got lost for Months in
all of the reading material. The museum includes an art gallery with
original art by several well know railroad artist.
The museum also has its own bookstore including over 1,000 titles of
books, recordings, videotapes, and DVD's. It also includes a full
selection of art prints, maps, timetable reprints, as well as many
